A mala, which is the Sanskrit word for garland, is a traditional necklace made with 108 beads, 1 guru bead and a tassel. Malas are used as a meditation tool to focus the mind while chanting, reciting or silently repeating a mantra. When not used specifically for meditation, malas can help one carry a sense of peace, mindfulness and focus with them throughout the day.
In this fun, interactive and inspiring workshop led by Kyla from MalaRae, participants will learn the sacred art of mala making, the history of aromatherapy, how scent is intrinsically linked to emotion, and how working with malas in this way can be a practical and beautiful practice.
We will also be exploring pure, therapeutic grade essential oils ~ how to choose the ones that resonate most and how to infuse them into your own personal malas for MORE growth, mindfulness and expansion.
Malas will be made with:
Cost: $108 + HST
~ all materials needed for your full mala
~ guidance + knotting technique instruction (+ guided meditation if time permits)
** There are no refunds for this workshop. Once registered, if you can’t make it, you will simply receive the stones/material to make on your own.**
